He explains the hardships Lebanon is facing in its Civil War, and asks him to settle part of Qabbani’s account, from poetry book sales, that amount to 147,500 Lebanese Pounds. Qabbani predicts that the Lebanese Pound will falter due to the war, and delegates his sister Haifa Qabbani to collect his money for him.
